About Me
Dr. Claire Y. Chu is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a special interest in advanced technology cataract surgery. She earned her undergraduate degree from the prestigious University of California Berkeley, which inspired her to pursue research. Dr. Chu authored papers and abstracts in topics ranging from biochemistry with implications on cancer biology to cataract surgery and immune mediated causes of cornea disease.
She obtained her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and began a lifetime of dedication to the field of ophthalmology. Following her internship in Fort Worth, Texas, she completed her ophthalmology training at University of Texas at Southwestern. For 15 years, she has served as a clinical instructor at UT Southwestern Medical School and has been recognized with the Outstanding Service Award for her contributions to medical resident education. Dr. Chu has been privileged to join colleagues in the D Magazine Best Doctors List for both Dallas and Collin County and has been honored to be chosen for the Women of Influence list in D Magazine, in recognition of her accomplishments and commitment to the local community.
