About Me

Dr. Christopher J. Walton is an ophthalmologist who has been serving patients in Mobile, Alabama and the nearby Gulf Coast areas since 2007. He takes pride in offering the finest levels of care to help patients achieve clear, crisp vision. Dr. Walton has made LASIK and cataract surgery the primary focus of his practice, with these two areas comprising approximately 90% of the surgeries he performs.

Dr. Walton earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile. He then spent a year studying at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. After returning to the Southeast, he completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and then pursued specialized fellowship training in corneal surgery and refractive surgery at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. This dual training has helped him become recognized as one of the premier refractive surgeons on the Gulf Coast.

Each year, Dr. Walton participates in continuing education to remain current on the latest techniques and technologies. He utilizes advanced technology such as the Allegretto Wave excimer laser system for LASIK and the LenSx laser for cataract surgery. Dr. Walton is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Mobile County Medical Association. He is also committed to giving back to the Mobile community, working with the National Children’s Advocacy Center to support disadvantaged children.
