About Me
Dr. Cesar Michael A. Samson is an NYU Langone ophthalmologist who specializes in uveitis, a form of eye inflammation, and other serious inflammatory eye disorders such as scleritis and ocular cicatricial pemphigoid. He treats both adults and children. In many cases, these conditions stem from autoimmune diseases within the eye. Dr. Samson also evaluates patients with autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease who experience new-onset eye symptoms, providing ocular assessments as part of managing their systemic health.
His treatment philosophy centers on restoring and preserving eye health and vision. Using advanced diagnostic methods, including analysis of eye tissue and fluid samples, his team is able to accurately diagnose uveitis and other inflammatory disorders. Dr. Samson collaborates with a network of specialist colleagues to ensure comprehensive care. He is also actively researching immunomodulatory therapy and the immunologic mechanisms that drive uveitis, with the goal of developing treatments that may eventually cure the condition without suppressing the immune system.
