About Me
Dr. Jessica Ackert is an ophthalmologist who recently joined The Eye Institute of Salus University as a primary and specialty care provider. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis, an inflammation of the middle layer of the eye. With more than eight years of experience, Dr. Ackert provides comprehensive eye care for a variety of conditions.
Previously, Dr. Ackert served as an assistant attending physician in the ophthalmology department at Hahnemann University Hospital. She has also held academic appointments as an assistant research professor at SUNY College of Optometry and as an assistant professor and ophthalmology pathways director at Drexel University School of Medicine. Dr. Ackert is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ackert completed her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and her undergraduate degree in neuroscience at New York University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She then completed a medical internship at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center, an ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, and a uveitis and ocular immunology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital.
