About Me
Casey Grier Smith, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist and a CU Medicine provider at UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center in Aurora. She is dedicated to setting children up for happy, healthy, and successful futures through comprehensive eye care.
Dr. Smith strives to provide the best possible care for her patients by creating a collaborative, safe, and friendly environment. She recognizes that no two children are the same and works to create tailored, multifaceted plans to suit each patient's individual needs. Her clinical interests include pediatric keratoconus, eye disease in children with Down Syndrome, pediatric eye trauma, and general pediatric ophthalmology. She also has expertise in managing ophthalmic outcomes and visual sequelae in children with neuro-oncologic diagnoses.
Actively involved in research, Dr. Smith is a PEDIG investigator for ROP 3/4, studying treatments for infants with retinopathy of prematurity. Her research also focuses on keratoconus screening in people with Down Syndrome, visual sequelae in children with brain tumors, retinal detachments in patients with Down Syndrome, and cerebral visual impairment in premature infants.
