About Me
Dr. Cara Capitena Young is a glaucoma specialist and associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Colorado. She provides medical, laser, and surgical care for the full spectrum of glaucoma, as well as cataract evaluation and surgery. Dr. Young earned her MD at the University of South Florida, completed internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s in Denver, ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado—where she served as chief resident—and fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Colorado. In clinic and the operating room, Dr. Young emphasizes evidence-based decisions, clear communication, and compassionate care. She offers minimally invasive glaucoma surgery when appropriate and collaborates closely with each patient to match treatment to goals and daily life. As Clinical Director of the Lone Tree satellite and Medical Director of the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center operating room, she is committed to safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
