About Me
Dr. Calvin Robbins is a fellowship-trained glaucoma surgeon scheduled to join Maine Eye Center in July 2026. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Robbins believes that personalized glaucoma care leads to better outcomes for patients.
His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and medical management of glaucoma, along with advanced treatments such as laser therapies and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures designed to reduce medication burden and preserve long-term vision. For patients with advanced disease, he performs traditional glaucoma surgery. Dr. Robbins also specializes in complex anterior segment surgery, including dislocated lens management, scleral-fixated lenses, and Pupilloplasty. He has contributed to the field through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and editorials.
A native of Waldoboro, Maine, Dr. Robbins graduated from Colby College with a major in biochemistry and a minor in physics, receiving distinction from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He attended Tufts University School of Medicine through the Maine Track program and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hockey, spending time with his family, and home improvement projects.
