Meet Dr. Brian Johnson
About Me
Dr. Brian Johnson is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon at Clemson Eye who grew up in Seneca, South Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Clemson University and his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Johnson completed an internship in Internal Medicine and then an Ophthalmology residency at Penn State, where he served as co-chief resident and won a research award for his work on cataract surgery.
Dr. Johnson returned to South Carolina in 2007 and practices comprehensive ophthalmology, with a focus on cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and laser treatments for glaucoma and retinal conditions. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as medical director of the Piedmont Surgery Center and is a surgeon for the Servants for Sight organization.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and attending Clemson sporting events. He values building long-term relationships with his patients and takes a collaborative approach to help each patient achieve their best possible vision.
