About Me
Dr. Ben Z. Cohen is a retina specialist and surgeon who founded Retina Associates of New York in 1983. He focuses on providing personalized care using advanced medical treatments for diseases of the retina. Dr. Cohen also opened The Retinal Ambulatory Surgery Center of New York in 2006 to offer state-of-the-art surgical care.
Dr. Cohen completed his medical degree at New York Medical College and ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago. He pursued specialized fellowship training in macular disorders, surgery, and clinical research at leading institutions including Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and the Eye Research Institute of the Retina Foundation. He remains affiliated with several professional organizations and has contributed to ophthalmic literature.
Patients with a range of retinal conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment, can receive comprehensive evaluation and treatment at his practice locations in Manhattan, Queens, and New Rochelle.
