Meet Dr. Donald D'Amico
About Me
Dr. Donald J. D'Amico is a vitreoretinal surgeon and the Professor and Chair of the Israel Englander Department of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College, serving as Ophthalmologist-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. An internationally recognized leader in vitreoretinal surgery, he brings decades of experience to his patients.
Dr. D'Amico's clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of vitreoretinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. He specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and intravitreal drug therapy, and has been involved in numerous clinical trials advancing the treatment of retinal diseases. He also provides direct instruction to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Throughout his career, Dr. D'Amico has received multiple honors, including the Honor Award and Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has served as President of the Retina Society and has published over 175 articles on vitreoretinal diseases.
