Dr. Belinda L. Shirkey is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in vitreoretinal diseases. As Medical Director at Retina Associates of Kentucky, she provides expert care for conditions including retinal detachments and macular diseases. Dr. Shirkey is also a principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, offering patients access to advanced treatment options.
Dr. Shirkey earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas and completed her residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at Duke University Eye Center. She previously served as an assistant clinical professor and fellowship director, bringing extensive teaching experience to her practice.
