About Me
Dr. Andrea Yonge is a board-certified ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery. She was named one of Portland’s Top Doctors in 2025 by Portland Monthly Magazine.
As a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, Dr. Yonge has expertise in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, traditional glaucoma surgery, glaucoma laser treatments, and cataract surgery. She values compassion, communication, and partnership as guiding principles in providing patient-centered care. Dr. Yonge believes in treating the person, not just the disease, emphasizing that a patient’s experience is shaped by their unique environment and situation.
Her education includes a B.S. in Neuroscience from Cornell University, medical school at Johns Hopkins University with a research year at the Wilmer Eye Institute, internship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West in New York City, residency at the Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, San Diego under Dr. Robert Weinreb. In her free time, she enjoys dancing Brazilian zouk, hiking, rock climbing, yoga, and exploring Portland's coffee and culinary scenes.
