Dr. Andrea Sawchyn

Dr. Sawchyn is a glaucoma specialist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Havener Eye Institute in Columbus, Ohio. She treats patients with cataracts, ocular hypertension, and all forms of glaucoma, from mild to complex cases. Her practice includes medical management, laser treatments, and surgical interventions with the goal of slowing or stopping the progression of glaucoma.

Dr. Sawchyn takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach, working closely with her patients to explain their condition and treatment options. She finds great satisfaction in helping patients manage their eye health, whether through medication coaching or surgery. As an associate professor and Director of the Glaucoma Division, she also supervises resident glaucoma surgeries and is actively involved in training the next generation of ophthalmologists.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sawchyn has been recognized for her teaching excellence and has served in leadership roles including Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs. She values the teamwork across subspecialties at the Havener Eye Institute, ensuring patients benefit from diverse expertise.
