About Me
Dr. Amy Yuan is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who cares for adults with the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease. Born in Shanghai and raised in Sydney, Australia, she later moved to the United States for college, graduating magna cum laude from Yale University with a degree in biomedical engineering before earning her medical degree at the Yale School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, an ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Washington.
At Pacific Northwest Retina, Dr. Yuan provides thoughtful, individualized care using the latest diagnostic testing, injection therapies, laser treatments, and retinal surgery to help preserve and restore vision. She has authored peer-reviewed publications on evolving techniques for secondary intraocular lens surgery and remains actively involved in research and clinical trials. Dr. Yuan also participates in global health initiatives and maintains a courtesy appointment as a clinical instructor at the University of Washington, where she helps educate residents and fellows.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, traveling, and playing bridge.
