Dr. Jia Xu

Dr. Jia (“Jeannie”) Xu is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. She completed the combined BA/MD program at Boston University, followed by an Internal Medicine internship at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and ophthalmology residency at Boston University, where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued vitreoretinal surgery fellowship training at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Eye and Ear.

Dr. Xu treats a wide range of retinal conditions with evidence-based care and a steady, patient-first approach. She focuses on clear communication, making sure every person understands their diagnosis and options—whether that involves observation, office-based injections or laser, or advanced retinal surgery.
