About Me

Dr. Aman Mittal is a board-certified ophthalmologist at UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute who cares for patients with corneal disease and complex cataracts. He specializes in corneal transplantation, corneal cross-linking, refractive and complex cataract surgery, laser vision correction, anterior segment reconstruction, and intraocular lens exchange. As an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology, he combines advanced surgical techniques with a warm, collaborative style so patients understand their options and feel confident in each step of care.

Dr. Mittal earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California after graduating magna cum laude in biomedical engineering from Duke University. He completed an internal medicine internship at Adventist Health White Memorial, an ophthalmology residency at McGovern Medical School in Houston, and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. His interests include using healthcare technology to streamline care, and he is active in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
