Dr. Alisa Thavikulwat is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist at Vision MD Eye Doctors. She provides routine and complex eye care, including cataract evaluation and surgery, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease management, and treatment for macular degeneration and dry eye. Patients appreciate her warm manner, thorough explanations, and emphasis on shared decision-making so each visit feels clear, collaborative, and unrushed.
A Towson, Maryland native, Dr. Thavikulwat completed a combined BA/MD program at the University of Rochester as a Rochester Early Medical Scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She spent a year at the National Eye Institute as part of the NIH Medical Research Scholars Program studying age-related macular degeneration, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and returned to the National Eye Institute for a medical retina fellowship. She has presented her research nationally and remains committed to bringing evidence-based, compassionate care to patients across Prince George’s County.
