About Me
Dr. Ali R. Tabassian is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Retina Institute of Virginia, serving patients in the Richmond area. His areas of expertise include retinal detachments, retinal vascular diseases, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Dr. Tabassian's approach focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical conditions of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Tabassian completed his undergraduate and doctoral studies at George Washington University and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia and a fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases at the University of Iowa. Dr. Tabassian is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also holds memberships in several professional societies, including the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology.
