About Me
Dr. Alexander Anetakis is a vitreo-retinal surgeon and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the Retina and Vitreous Service at the UPMC Department of Ophthalmology. He completed his training in 2006 and initially practiced in South Carolina before joining UPMC in 2008. His clinical practice focuses on the medical and surgical management of vitreo-retinal diseases.
Dr. Anetakis has special interests in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and disorders of the vitreo-retinal interface. In addition to his clinical duties, he serves as a Senior Advisor on the Translational Sciences team at UPMC Enterprises, contributing to ophthalmology-related investments and life sciences opportunities.
