Dr. Albert Liao

Dr. Albert Liao is a retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, providing expert eye care services on the Cape in Massachusetts. He specializes in vitreoretinal surgery, combining meticulous microsurgical technique with evidence-based medical therapies to help patients preserve and restore vision. His clinical expertise includes conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, macular edema, and retinal tears and detachments.

Dr. Liao earned his Bachelor of Arts in molecular biology at Princeton University and his Master of Science in clinical research at Emory University Laney Graduate School. He completed his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine, an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and an ophthalmology residency at Emory Eye Center, where he received the Emory Eye Center Senior Research Prize. He is completing a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Los Angeles Stein Eye Institute.
