Dr. Ahmad Kheirkhah

As a cornea specialist, Dr. Ahmad Kheirkhah provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the cornea and ocular surface at the Robert Cizik Eye Clinic. He is an associate professor in the Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at UTHealth Houston, ensuring that patients benefit from the latest advancements in eye care.

Dr. Kheirkhah specializes in treating challenging cornea diseases through advanced surgical techniques. His areas of expertise include corneal transplantation, both traditional and stem cell-based, artificial cornea procedures, and reconstruction of the ocular surface. He also manages ocular burns, conjunctival cicatricial disorders, and performs cataract surgery for complete eye health.

Having completed specialized fellowships in cornea and ocular surface disease after his residency, Dr. Kheirkhah has held positions at prestigious institutions including Harvard Medical School. He joined the Cizik Eye Clinic in 2023 to continue his focus on complex cornea cases. His commitment to research is evident through numerous publications and recognition with awards such as the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
