About Me

Dr. Zachary Kroeger is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at the OHSU Casey Eye Institute, where he also serves as an assistant professor in the OHSU School of Medicine. He cares for the full spectrum of retina and vitreous disease, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and offers both medical and surgical treatment tailored to each patient’s needs. Patients can see him at Casey Eye Institute on Marquam Hill as well as in Casey clinics in Astoria and Vancouver, making subspecialty retina care accessible across the region.

Dr. Kroeger earned his M.D. and a master’s degree in genomic medicine at the University of Miami, completed ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and returned to OHSU for fellowship training in retina. He emphasizes clear, collaborative communication—reviewing imaging, outlining options, and building evidence-based plans aligned with each patient’s goals. Whether care involves close monitoring or advanced surgery, his focus is to preserve and improve sight with skill, compassion, and the latest technology.
