Dr. William Whitson

Dr. William Whitson is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist who has been serving the Indianapolis and Avon communities since 1987. His practice focuses on refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and the management of cornea and anterior segment diseases, as well as complications related to intraocular lenses. Dr. Whitson has extensive experience with LASIK, laser vision correction, cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lenses, and corneal transplant procedures, offering patients personalized treatment plans for a range of vision concerns.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Whitson has been actively involved in research and FDA studies since 1986, investigating excimer lasers, pharmaceutical agents, and surgical techniques. He has shared his expertise through lectures at local, national, and international meetings. He treats conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye, macular degeneration, keratoconus, and Fuchs’ dystrophy, and provides both medical and surgical therapies to help preserve and improve vision.
