About Me
Dr. Wasim Samara is a board-certified ophthalmologist focused exclusively on diseases of the retina and vitreous. He cares for people with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, retinal tears, and retinal detachments, offering both medical and surgical treatments tailored to each patient’s needs. During his vitreoretinal fellowship he completed extensive operative training and performed more than one thousand procedures, gaining broad experience with both complex repairs and routine cases. After training, he practiced in North Carolina before moving to Texas to establish Envision Retina, where he strives to deliver attentive, timely care close to home.
Dr. Samara’s background includes research fellowships in ocular oncology and vitreoretinal diseases at Wills Eye Hospital and clinical training at Virginia Commonwealth University following medical school at the University of Jordan. His work has been presented at national meetings and published in leading journals, and he is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
