Dr. Usiwoma Esenighe Ene Abugo
Ophthalmology – Oculofacial Surgeon
About Me
Dr. Usiwoma Abugo is Director of Oculofacial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetics at Katzen Eye Group. She treats the full spectrum of eyelid, orbital, and periocular conditions—from functional issues that affect comfort and vision to cosmetic concerns that influence confidence and quality of life. Patients value her balanced approach: she addresses medical needs first and then offers aesthetic options that complement natural facial features.
A Baltimore native, Dr. Abugo earned her medical degree at Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at Howard University Hospital, and pursued subspecialty training in neuro-ophthalmology and facial plastic & reconstructive orbital surgery at Central Valley Eye Medical Group. Her services include blepharoplasty and ptosis repair, eyelid malposition correction, reconstruction after Mohs surgery, and management of thyroid eye disease, tearing, and dry eye. She is active nationally in ophthalmology and received the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Award in 2022 for her leadership and service.
