Dr. Tyler Risma

Dr. Tyler B. Risma is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care and a wide range of in-office and surgical treatments. His clinical work includes cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, along with laser procedures such as YAG laser capsulotomy and retina laser. He also offers retina injections and glaucoma laser and surgery when appropriate.

Dr. Risma joined Fuerste Eye Clinic in 2018. He completed his medical education at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and trained in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to vision-restoring procedures, he performs eyelid-focused care such as blepharoplasty and other eyelid surgery, and he provides medical eye exams for patients who want ongoing, relationship-based care. Dr. Risma’s approach emphasizes clear explanations, thoughtful treatment selection, and follow-up planning so patients feel confident at every step.
