Dr. Justin Risma

Dr. Justin M. Risma is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care for adults and families in the Dubuque area. He offers advanced cataract care, including cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, and helps patients manage chronic eye conditions with careful medical follow-up and modern in-office treatments.

In addition to cataract and lens-based vision correction, Dr. Risma treats retinal conditions with injections and laser procedures and provides glaucoma evaluation and surgical/laser options when appropriate. He also performs eyelid procedures such as blepharoplasty and other eyelid surgery, and he treats posterior capsule clouding after cataract surgery with YAG laser capsulotomy.

Dr. Risma completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after earning his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is committed to helping patients understand their options and feel confident in their plan of care.
