Dr. Tony Kang

Tony Kang, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and medical retina specialist who provides surgical and medical eye care across the Metro DC area. He performs cataract surgery using advanced technology, including laser-assisted techniques and toric or multifocal lens implants to reduce glasses dependence. Dr. Kang also diagnoses and treats medical retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and retinal tears, offering evidence-based therapies tailored to each patient’s vision goals.

Dr. Kang completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester Flaum Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in Medical Retina at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. He earned his MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Kang communicates in English and Korean (and basic Spanish) and is committed to clear explanations, compassionate care, and excellent outcomes.
