About Me
Dr. Tirso Mark Lara is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and vitreous disorders. He focuses on conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, and severe ocular trauma. As a retina specialist, Dr. Lara provides both medical and surgical care for complex eye conditions, including retinal detachment and vitreous diseases.
Dr. Lara is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NOVA Southeastern University College of Medicine and a Clinical Instructor at its School of Optometry, where he teaches medical students and residents. He is also an active investigator in FDA-approved clinical studies, contributing to advancements in eye care. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Lara is dedicated to providing high-quality eye health services to his patients and has volunteered his services in underserved communities in Central America.
He practices at the main office of Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in Plantation, Florida, along with a second location in Fort Lauderdale.
