Dr. Thomas Yau

Dr. Thomas Yau is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon in Silver Spring, MD, serving the metro DC area since 1997. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at MedStar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Yau provides comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical eye care for a wide range of conditions.

He has a special interest in laser cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens implants, including toric and multifocal lenses to correct astigmatism and help patients reduce dependence on glasses. Dr. Yau treats patients with cataracts, glaucoma, dry eyes, diabetic eye disease, and rheumatologic eye disease. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
