About Me
Dr. T. Mark Johnson is a retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon who treats a wide range of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, uveitis, and ocular melanoma. He believes that effective patient care extends beyond medical advice, and he strives to be a source of comfort and support for his patients.
Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he received the Hewlett Packard Award as top graduate. He completed his residency at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
An active contributor to his field, Dr. Johnson has published numerous articles, contributed to textbooks, and serves as a reviewer for leading ophthalmology journals. He has been recognized by his peers as a Washingtonian Top Doctor. Dr. Johnson sees patients at locations in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Rockville and Germantown, Maryland, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
