Dr. Terrell Hemelt

Dr. Terrell M. Hemelt is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience. A native of New Orleans, he moved to Slidell in 2000 and joined Northlake Eye Center, where he has practiced exclusively in St. Tammany Parish for more than two decades. He completed his medical training at LSU School of Medicine and residency in ophthalmology at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, along with an internship in internal medicine.

Dr. Hemelt provides comprehensive eye care, treating all eye conditions with a particular expertise in cataract surgery and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). He is dedicated to diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye syndrome, and macular degeneration. Using his extensive surgical skills, he helps patients achieve optimal vision and eye health. He takes a thorough approach to diagnosis and treatment, ensuring each patient receives personalized care tailored to their specific needs.
