Dr. Sylvia Chang

Martha Ryan, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Vantage Eye Center who focuses on cataract and anterior segment surgery delivered with clear communication and a calm, patient-first approach. A Bay Area native, she earned her medical degree at Emory University and completed ophthalmology residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, where she deepened her interest in sight-restoring procedures and global eye care. Her practice includes advanced techniques such as manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), tailored to each patient’s goals. Before medical training, Dr. Ryan studied chemical engineering with a biomedical engineering minor at Carnegie Mellon University and served in AmeriCorps. She has presented research nationally and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical outcomes. Outside the clinic, she stays active on the Central Coast with hiking and time outdoors with family. Dr. Ryan Fante is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Sansum Clinic’s Elings Eye Center in Santa Barbara. He provides medical and surgical care across the spectrum of general eye conditions, with particular focus on cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. In the clinic he also performs intravitreal injections and office-based laser procedures, and he offers pterygium surgery when needed. Dr. Eubee Baughn Koo is a board-certified ophthalmologist at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford Health Care and a clinical assistant professor in Stanford's Department of Ophthalmology. She provides comprehensive eye care for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye, chalazia, and eyelid lesions. Dr. Koo offers both office-based and surgical treatments--including cataract surgery and laser procedures--and builds personalized care plans that prioritize safety, clarity, and comfort at every step. In addition to her clinical practice, she teaches medical students and residents across clinic, OR, and inpatient settings, and she contributes to research and invited presentations in ophthalmology.
