Dr. Suzanna Billinghurst

Dr. Suzanna Billinghurst joined Orion Eye Center in 2017, bringing her expertise in comprehensive ophthalmology to Central Oregon. She was born and raised in northern Colorado and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Dr. Billinghurst then completed her medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver in 2013. During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, recognizing her excellence in scholarship and commitment to the highest ideals of medicine.

After medical school, Dr. Billinghurst completed her internship at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she gained additional training in oculoplastic surgery and microsurgical techniques. She then pursued her ophthalmology residency at the Ohio State University in Columbus, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Billinghurst specializes in advanced cataract surgery and medical glaucoma, and she provides comprehensive eye care for a wide range of conditions. She is skilled in utilizing an array of lasers to treat various eye diseases.

Dr. Billinghurst is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, ice hockey, and spending time with her husband and golden retriever.
