About Me
Dr. Susan K. Gelman is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases. She utilizes the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to manage a range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, vein occlusions, and hereditary dystrophies. Her approach prioritizes patient comfort and clear communication.
Dr. Gelman's extensive training includes a medical degree and master's in public health from Columbia University, followed by residency at New York University and a fellowship at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute. She is currently a clinical instructor at NYU and holds staff positions at major New York eye hospitals. She is an active member of several professional societies and contributes to the field through research, publications, and clinical trials.
She has joined Ramapo Ophthalmology Associates, bringing experience from practices in Los Angeles and Manhattan. In her free time, Dr. Gelman enjoys outdoor activities with her family, which reflects her balanced approach to life and medicine.
