Dr. Sumeet Gupta

Sumeet Gupta, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma surgeon at Eye Consultants of Northern Virginia. He cares for adults who need advanced medical and surgical treatment for glaucoma and cataracts, offering individualized plans that match each patient’s vision goals and lifestyle. Dr. Gupta provides the full spectrum of glaucoma care, including medication management, laser therapy, and complex cataract and glaucoma surgeries, with or without minimally invasive glaucoma procedures (MIGS). He also offers comprehensive ophthalmology services and sees patients in both the Springfield and Woodbridge offices, working closely with referring providers to coordinate care.

A native of Cumberland, Maryland, Dr. Gupta attended the University of Virginia Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at West Virginia University, where he later served as an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and remains active in professional organizations as he partners with patients to protect and preserve their sight.
