About Me
Dr. Steven Henslee is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 30 years of medical and surgical experience, specializing in treating diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. He moved to Columbus, Georgia in 1987 and has been practicing there ever since, providing expert eye care to the community.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Oklahoma State University and his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Henslee completed a medical internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and a three-year ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He also served as a flight surgeon and Chief of Ophthalmology in the United States Air Force, where he performed advanced cataract procedures.
Dr. Henslee maintains professional affiliations with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Muscogee County Medical Society, Christian Ophthalmology Society, and the Medical Association of Georgia. He is actively involved in community service, including his role with the Boy Scouts of America.
