Meet Dr. Evan Sussenbach

Dr. Evan Sussenbach is a comprehensive ophthalmologist caring for adults and families in the Columbus area. A Columbus native, he graduated with highest honors from the University of Georgia and earned his MD from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed an internal medicine internship in Nashville and ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City before joining West Georgia Eye Care Center in 2015.Dr. Sussenbach provides full-service eye care—from routine exams and contact lens evaluations to cataract surgery with premium lens options and management of glaucoma and retinal disease. He offers modern laser treatments and collaborates closely with subspecialty colleagues when advanced care is needed. Patients know him for clear communication, practical guidance, and a warm, community-minded approach that puts safety, comfort, and long-term vision first.
