About Me
Dr. Steven Kane is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. Raised in Venice, Florida, he brings advanced surgical options to patients in his hometown, focusing on clear, practical guidance and treatment plans tailored to each person’s goals. His expertise includes laser cataract surgery, premium lens implants, LASIK, refractive lens exchange, and corneal transplantation. Dr. Kane has a special interest in Fuchs’ endothelial disease and modern partial-thickness cornea transplant techniques, including DMEK and DSAEK. He is passionate about teaching and helps train U.S. and international surgeons in cataract, ocular surface, and corneal transplant procedures. He is also involved in translational research and has contributed to developing minimally invasive surgical techniques and new technologies used in clinical practice. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and a cornea fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
