Dr. Steve Charles

Dr. Steve Charles is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Charles Retina Institute in Germantown, Tennessee, specializing in the treatment of vitreoretinal diseases. He has performed over 38,000 vitreoretinal surgeries and has developed numerous techniques and devices used by vitreoretinal surgeons worldwide. He is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee.

After completing medical school at the University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Charles undertook a medical internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He then served as a Clinical Associate at the National Eye Institute, focusing on vitreoretinal surgery and research. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
