Dr. Stephen Hamilton

Stephen M. Hamilton, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the team at Surgical Eye Consultants of East Alabama. He brings over 30 years of experience to Auburn, having previously practiced in Atlanta where he specialized in the most complex anterior segment cases referred from across the United States.

Dr. Hamilton earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he also completed his residency. He also completed a corneal and refractive surgery fellowship at Eye Consultants of Atlanta and an internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. His undergraduate degree in chemical engineering is from Auburn University.

He specializes in refractive cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, and LASIK procedures. Dr. Hamilton has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America and a Top Doctor in Atlanta. He has also received multiple patient-nominated awards from Vitals, including Patient's Choice Doctor, Most Compassionate Doctor, and Top 10 Doctor.
