Dr. Shivan Tekwani

Dr. Shivan Tekwani is a medical retina and vitreous specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist at Chicago Arbor Eye Institute, where he focuses on diagnosing and treating conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and cataracts. He places a strong emphasis on patient education, helping individuals understand the connection between their overall health and vision. Dr. Tekwani's approach is characterized by a kind demeanor and a thoughtful, patient-centered philosophy.

With training that includes a residency at Loyola University Medical Center and a fellowship in medical retina, Dr. Tekwani brings specialized expertise in retinal diseases and cataract surgery. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loyola University Medical Center, where he teaches residents and medical students, and he provides care for veterans at the Hines V.A. hospital. Since joining Chicago Arbor Eye Institute in 2011, he has been dedicated to advancing eye care in the Chicagoland community.
