Dr. Shawn Gappy

Dr. Shawn Gappy is an ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric eye disease and adult strabismus (ocular misalignment). He evaluates and treats conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), double vision, eye movement disorders, nasolacrimal disorders, and other pediatric and strabismus-related concerns.

He completed medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine and trained at Henry Ford Hospital for internship and ophthalmology residency, followed by fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. In 2018, Dr. Gappy established Central Eye Care, P.C. with an emphasis on pediatric and strabismus care, and he also provides comprehensive adult eye care with a concentration on cataract, diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of AAO and AAPOS.
