About Me
Dr. Shanna Brown is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care and specializes in advanced surgical treatments. She focuses on cataract surgery, including the use of cutting-edge Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs), and also performs pterygium excision surgery, YAG capsulotomies, and peripheral iridotomies. Her strong clinical background encompasses working extensively in major hospitals and surgical centers across Texas.
Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She completed an internship in preliminary internal medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio Health Sciences Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she served as a Co-Chief Resident. Prior to medical training, she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Prairie View A&M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Recognized as a trusted leader in the Texas medical community, Dr. Brown is a 2016 graduate of the Texas Medical Association Leadership College, which supports physician leaders in bridging the gap between clinicians, policymakers, and their communities. In 2014, she received a Physician Spotlight for her work with Project Access Tarrant County, an initiative providing healthcare access to the uninsured and economically disadvantaged.
