About Me
Dr. Ruth D. Williams is an ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, a condition characterized by increased pressure in the eye and vision loss. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and completed her medical education at Rush Medical College, followed by an internship at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center, an ophthalmology residency at California Pacific Medical Center, and a glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Williams is a passionate advocate for glaucoma patients, promoting access to compassionate care and education about treatments and outcomes. She has served as President of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and chaired the ophthalmology section of the American Medical Association. She is also Vice-Chair of the Glaucoma Research Foundation and Chief Medical Editor of EyeNet Magazine. Dr. Williams sees patients at the Wheaton Eye Clinic's Wheaton and Naperville locations.
