About Me
Rodolfo Bonatti, MD, is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill whose practice focuses on adult and pediatric glaucoma, cataract surgery, and ocular trauma. He trained in Brazil at the University of São Paulo, completing ophthalmology residency and an oculoplastic fellowship at Hospital das Clínicas da USP, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at Dalhousie University Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences in Canada. He cares for patients at the UNC Kittner Eye Center and UNC Holly Springs Ophthalmology.
Dr. Bonatti provides the full spectrum of medical and surgical glaucoma care, including laser procedures, trabeculectomy, tube shunts, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He also performs cataract surgery and combined cataract–glaucoma procedures when appropriate. He enjoys partnering with patients to choose durable solutions for a lifelong disease and offers care in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
