About Me
Dr. Robert Tucker is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in treating anterior segment and external diseases of the eye, including corneal pterygium excision, tear film deficiencies, glaucoma, and infections. He also manages medical retina conditions and performs both routine and complex cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation. Dr. Tucker utilizes a broad array of laser technologies to treat various eye conditions.
With nearly four decades of experience in private practice in the Atlanta area, Dr. Tucker has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Surgery at the Emory University VA Medical Center. He is a Lifetime Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Tucker has held leadership roles in organized medicine, including representing the American Academy of Ophthalmology as a Delegate to the American Medical Association and as a Governor on the American College of Surgeons Board of Governors.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Tucker is a native Atlantan who enjoys weight training, aerobic fitness, tennis, pickleball, skiing, hiking, and river rafting with family and friends. He maintains a keen interest in cutting-edge ophthalmic clinical and surgical developments.
