About Me
Dr. Robert Blau is an ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal disorders. With over five decades of experience since starting practice in 1973, he has extensive expertise in managing conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, vascular abnormalities, retinal tears, retinal detachment, epiretinal membranes, and macular edema.
Dr. Blau is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with retinal diseases, utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment approaches. His focus on vitreo-retinal conditions ensures that patients receive specialized care for even the most challenging retinal issues.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Blau is actively involved in teaching the next generation of eye care professionals as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. He has also served as past Chairman of the division of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Oakland.
