Meet Dr. Robert Elgin
About Me
Dr. Robert Elgin is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist at Hampton Roads Eye Associates. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, treating conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and corneal disease. Dr. Elgin offers advanced procedures including DSAEK cornea transplants and cataract surgery.
Dr. Elgin completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of Iowa. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains memberships in several professional societies.
Dr. Elgin has contributed to research on corneal disease and has been recognized with awards such as the Holderness Fellowship grant. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
