Meet Dr. Richard Scartozzi
About Me
Dr. Richard Scartozzi is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. His expertise includes conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes and puckers, retinal detachments, retinal tears, floaters, retinal vein occlusions, and uveitis. He also manages complications from cataract surgery and performs advanced sutureless vitrectomy surgery and laser eye surgery.
Dr. Scartozzi completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute of the University of Southern California and his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital. He is a clinical instructor at Yale Medical School and serves as a principal investigator for clinical research trials in retinal diseases. His approach to patient care emphasizes the latest evidence-based treatments and surgical techniques.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, and the International College of Surgeons. Dr. Scartozzi is committed to providing comprehensive retina care, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and therapies to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
